Landscape Rehydration and Disaster Risk Reduction Project - 'Licola Rehydration'
This is a capacity building project at a demonstration site near Licola regarding methods to increase resilience towards climate action, bush fires and flooding events by increasing productivity, soils, biodiversity, and moisture retention.
MDLN is partnering with The Mulloon Institute.
West Gippsland Dung Beetle Monitoring Project - 'Dung Beetle'
This partnership between Latrobe Catchment Landcare Network (LCLN) and MDLN is to close the information gap around Dung Beetle species and diversity by implementing a 12 month monitoring program across the West Gippsland Catchment.
Maffra and Districts Growing Firewise – ‘Firewise’
This project is increasing knowledge around fire-risk reduction through plant selection and landscape designs in home gardens and agricultural settings at four demonstration sites.
This is funded by the National Wildlife and Parks Foundation (NWPF).
Community Improving Connection and Condition of the Gippsland Lakes – ‘Community Improving Lakes’
This project is addressing the health of the tributaries that feed the Lake Wellington system. A large part of the project will be about fencing to exclude stock from riparian zones and the establishment of native vegetation. “Nuntin Creek” has been selected as the site.

Funded by ‘Love our Lakes’.
Extending the Biolink: Maffra to Tinamba – ‘Extending the Biolink’
Building on previous year's planting and weed management on the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail (GPRT) this project extends work to Gannons Lane with partners including schools and community groups.
Funded by 2023 Victorian Landcare Grants.
