LANDCARE NETWORK

MAFFRA & DISTRICTS

Healthy Landscapes, Thriving Communities

The Maffra and Districts Landcare Network (MDLN) began in the 1980s with western Victoria farmers joining forces to tackle local environmental problems such as weeds, rabbits and erosion.

The Landcare movement has grown and evolved with time and now includes rural, coastal and urban groups right across the Australian landscape.

It has also adopted a broader focus of sustainable management of our natural resources.

Landcarers are united by a shared desire to create positive change in their local community and environment.

  • joining a community of like-minded people

  • assisting with local community projects, such as planting trees, building and installing nest boxes, clearing weeds, or maintaining project sites

  • learning about and sharing knowledge of land management practices

  • being kept up to date with upcoming events, resources, grants and other information via our e-News.
